This Journal will follow my latest 60cm scape, which uses the wonderful Manzanita wood which has been provided by one of the hobbies great Aquascapers Mr Tom Barr.
In my previous attempts at dry scaping, this combination of wood, sand and stone lead me to believe that the finished article should always contain these elements for a foreground which is striking and yet natural looking. I needed to decide whether I wanted a ‘mound’, ‘triangular’ or ‘u’ shaped layout and many variants came about when I first started to reproduce my initial ideas.
I even fell into my usual trap of initially setting up a ‘wood’ scape and then ending up doing an iwagumi style scape. I soon put a stop to that.
Plant list and updates shortly. mark 7 Responses to “Savannah dreaming”Leave a Reply |

Hi Mark!
This is awesome! The last layout with the added gravel looks so natural. And your photo skill just add another level to the concept
Was intresting to see the other layouts too, but i agree with you the last one is the best so far.
Will be amazing when you will have plants. Can not wait to see the final scape
Cheers, Viktor

Hi guys,
This 60cm tank turned out to be more a play with hardscape materials, although Mark is currently working on an updated layout of the same theme in his 120cm optiwhite.
Members of ukaps.org can see the start of the journal here.
All hardscape is available from us via our Shop.
